Come find us at the Mosswood Meltdown!
As many of you already know, Kathleen Hanna is the Peace Sisters Ambassador, and we are so grateful for all the work she does to shine a light on Girls’ Empowerment in Togo! Kathleen's help in making our programs thrive through her t-shirt company Tees4Togo is immeasurable.
This year Kathleen's band, Le Tigre, will be headlining the Mosswood Meltdown festival and Peace Sisters will also be there! We are sharing a merch table with Tees4Togo where you can buy a shirt (all proceeds benefit Peace Sisters!) and make a donation to receive a "free gift" of a tote bag that was handmade by seamstresses in Togo!!
If you're free on Monday, June 26th @6pm ET / 3pm PT...

A Celebration of Our GIFT Grant!
Friends of Togo awarded us with another grant of $2k this year! After helping us build our Computer Lab in Dapaong last year, FOT has further helped us to transform this space into a thriving community center with new dormitory capacities. Now study groups can study late into the night without worrying about their safety when walking home!
A full report will be available before the annual FOT meeting in July, but all of this became possible through the purchase of new:
sleeping mats & pillows
cups, plates, and coffee & tea
We can't wait to see how all these new study opportunities will impact the girls' success rate this school year!
And Now an Update from Togo...
Results Are Coming In!
A 93% Success Rate!!!
After a very successful expansion of our Tutoring Program this year (thanks to a grant from the US Embassy in Togo), we are starting to see a marked improvement in the performance of the students in our program!!
So far only the 11th grade test results have come in, but we are thrilled to share that 54 of the 58 students who took the BAC1 exam this year have passed!
Stay tuned for more results...
