Dapaong, Togo

Peace Sisters currently operates in the environs of Dapaong, Togo in West Africa. Dapaong is located in the northernmost "Savannes" region of the country where, as the name of the region indicates, there is a savannah climate. Much of the economy of this region is agriculture-based and many residents are subsistence farmers. 

The population of Dapaong is diverse and people of several different ethnicities and religions live peacefully together and work side by side in their local markets. Moba is the primary language of the area, but French is the official language and is used in the local schools.
