Peace Sisters Goes Platinum!!
Another Milestone...
Long known as the touchstone by which many donors verify nonprofit accountability, GuideStar compiles a database that assesses organizational transparency. Peace Sisters has slowly but surely climbed our way up their ladder, moving from bronze, to silver, to gold, and finally we have reached their highest rung... Platinum! You can see our new GuideStar (Candid) profile here.
What's in store for 2022:
Overcoming Covid Setbacks...
Peace Sisters recently was awarded another Friends of Togo grant of $2,000!
This funding will help us equip our new tutoring centers that will help girls to overcome learning gaps that arose due to social distancing protocols in their classrooms last year.
We are creating four tutoring centers within walking distance for all the girls, and thanks to the Friends of Togo grant we are well on our way to providing computers and printers! The tutors will be able to tailor learning materials to the girls' needs and also provide them with basic computer literacy skills.
Tina's Trip to Togo...
Our Founder, Tina Kampor, started off the New Year by flying to Togo and she plans to spend about a month visiting with the girls in our program in Dapaong. Tina will listen to all of our stakeholders (the Peace Girls board, parents, teachers, principals, and the girls themselves) to ensure we continue to address the most pressing needs with our programs. We can't wait to give you the latest update on how the 2021-22 school year is coming along!
