Young African Woman Leader!

Find out how Aïda, a college student in our program, recently used skills taught at our Computer Lab to discover an opportunity to speak at the Africa Girls & Women Summit. How did you get selected for the Africa Girls & Women Summit?

Aïda: J'avais lu sur les réseaux qu'on organise un concours de jeunes femmes LEADERS du Togo. J'ai envoyé ma candidature et j'ai été retenu après la présélection, ensuite j'ai suivi la formation d'une durée de 3 mois et j'ai été sélectionnée comme Ambassadrice jeune femme Leader de la Région des savanes après mon discours le jour du concours qui a eu lieu à Lomé le 28 janvier.

Aïda: I read on the internet about a competition for young women leaders of Togo. I sent in my application and then participated in the pre-selection process. I followed the training for 3 months and then in January I was selected as Young Woman Ambassador of the Savanes Region after a speech competition in Lomé.

Dreams for the Future...

What are you studying and what are your goals?

Aïda: Je suis étudiante en première année en biologie à l'université de Kara. Passionné par l'écriture je désire devenir un grand écrivain, voyager et ensuite créer une grande entreprise d'élevage et d'agriculture au Togo.

Aïda: I am a first year biology student at the University of Kara. I am passionate about writing so I want to become a writer and travel. Then I want to come back and create a large livestock and agricultural business in Togo.

How is Peace Sisters helping you?

Aïda: Peace Sisters m'aide à atteindre mes objectifs grâce à l'aide que je reçois pour continuer mes études universitaires. Ce qui me permettra d'avoir un diplôme pour trouver un emploi afin de réaliser mon rêve.

Aïda: Peace Sisters helps me achieve my goals through the help I receive to continue my university studies. This will allow me to have a diploma to find a job in order to realize my dreams.

Peace Sisters is working hard to build a thriving network of successful women leaders who have overcome financial and social barriers to achieve their dreams. Aïda and many of the other students in our program also serve as mentors to help the younger girls succeed.
